The Pony Express 1052 is a self propelled scissor lift cart from Electro Kinetic Technologies that pairs a battery powered drive system with a hydraulic scissor table. One operator can load at floor friendly height, drive the cart across the plant at up to 3 mph, then raise as much as 2500 lb to the exact working height the next station needs. Every push, pull and manual lift that normally happens during a material transfer is handled by the cart instead of a worker.
The signature safety feature is crawl speed. Any time the platform is not fully lowered, the cart automatically limits forward and reverse travel to a quarter of normal speed, so the operator can still nudge a raised load into final position without ever moving fast with a high center of gravity. EK Tech can also configure the cart to lock out travel completely whenever the platform is up.
The 1052 comes in six base configurations that pair a 2000 or 2500 lb capacity with 24, 36 or 48 inches of vertical travel, and every build starts at a low 17.5 inch lowered height. Platforms run from a standard 26 x 40 inches up to a maximum 36 x 84 inches. Because each unit is built to order in Wisconsin, EK Tech engineers routinely tailor the deck, controls and safety package to the application. Working units are in service everywhere from window and door manufacturing to aerospace packaging lines and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.

Because the 1052 is a factory built custom cart, its accessories are fitted at build time rather than bolted on later. The tops, skirting, sensing edges and enclosure upgrades listed under options are all installed and tested in Germantown before the cart ships. Spare battery packs, replacement casters and charger components are available through EK Tech parts support, and we can include them on your quote so the cart arrives with everything your maintenance team wants on the shelf.

Key safety systems on every 1052
Operators drive the 1052 with a simple hand control mounted at the push handle, with a hi and low speed switch for open aisles versus tight quarters. Platform height is run from a magnetic backed pendant on a 10 foot cord, so the operator can stand wherever visibility is best while raising or lowering the load.
Charging is as simple as it gets. The on board UL and cUL listed smart charger plugs into a standard wall outlet, and an overnight charge supports a full shift with up to 5 miles of driving. The deep cycle AGM battery is rated for roughly twice the service life of a standard battery and never needs watering.
The 8 inch non marking casters roll cleanly over finished floors, and the automatic holding brake keeps the cart planted on ramps and dock plates. These are heavy industrial machines, so every 1052 ships by freight carrier on a skid. We coordinate dock delivery or liftgate service with you when the build is scheduled.
The 1052 comes in 2000 lb and 2500 lb capacity builds. Both capacities are available with 24, 36 or 48 inches of vertical travel, giving six standard configurations, and EK Tech can engineer capacities above 2500 lb on request.
Every 1052 starts at a 17.5 inch lowered height. Depending on whether you choose 24, 36 or 48 inches of vertical travel, the platform tops out at 41.5, 53.5 or 65.5 inches.
Yes, but only at crawl speed. The cart automatically limits forward and reverse travel to 25 percent of normal speed whenever the platform is not fully lowered, which lets the operator fine position a raised load safely. EK Tech can also configure the cart so it will not travel at all with the platform up.

The 1050-EL is the light duty model with a 1000 lb capacity and a fixed 23 x 43.5 inch platform. The 1052 is the heavy duty custom line with double the capacity or more, larger platforms up to 36 x 84 inches, an industrial drive system and a much deeper factory option list.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated.
